Getting Green with Styrofoam
A lot of people would agree that using styrofoam on a day to day basis can be very harmful to the environment due to the pollution and as much as it is useful to us, it is also a huge problem for the ecological existence of earth. At this point, it is virtually impossible to stop people from using it but there are ways to somehow, minimize its negative effects. One has to remember that a Styrofoam, no matter what size or shape, is always reusable and it doesn’t always have to end up in the trash can immediately.
Inside your house, the most useful way of recycling styro is by using it as insulation. Just make sure you don’t use it on your kitchen as it may be highly flammable, but using it on tool sheds, dog houses or work shops. You can also use it in gardening if you feel like being extra green about it. You can easily use them as plant beds or drainage, and the styro sheets can be used as floaters. It should be a nice thing to have for organic farming and the best part here is that you are actually using something that is known to be an environmental hazard and use it for the better of our eco-system.
